Nannette has led quite a bohemian life, and tried her hand at many different means of employment. She has been a green plant specialist, caring for plants in indoor environments; a radio news announcer and disc jockey; a short-order cook and tea-room chef; an interior house painter; and a 911 dispatcher. She counts as some of her most enjoyable jobs a two-year stint as a library manager and teacher’s aide in a rural private school, and 9 years as an office manager/administrator for an international book publisher in London, England, where she lived for 15 years.

She confesses to a fascination with words, both spoken and written, and admits this stands her in good stead as editor for the Wilson County News. A follower of current events, she has discovered an interest in civic affairs and enjoys observing and reporting on the activities of local elected entities and individuals. Nannette also enjoys meeting the many talented and interesting people in our readership area and counts herself privileged and honored to share their stories with readers.

Our editor is the proud mother of two children who attend school in the La Vernia ISD. Nannette and her family enjoy a variety of activities, including family gatherings, church and school events, and movie nights at home.  All are avid readers and can often be found browsing bookstore shelves.

In her (rare) free time, Nannette enjoys home decorating, writing and reading for pleasure, watercolor painting, and creating in the kitchen — which sometimes becomes her laboratory or test environment for new recipes.  She attended Troy State University and the University of the Incarnate Word, and holds a post-graduate certification in management from the South Bank University of London, England.
